Together with many of our partners in the climate movement, 350 Action is endorsing Vice President Harris to be the next U.S. President.

The first woman, the first Black woman, the first South Asian woman, and most importantly, the first real chance for a climate champion in the White House — this is an historic moment!

This moment is historic in other ways too: our planet continues to hit record-breaking temperatures1. Our communities continue to suffer the impacts of the climate crisis2. The stakes could not be any higher.

VP Harris has a history of taking on Big Oil and pushing for climate justice — in her 2020 campaign, she advocated for a Green New Deal.

While VP Harris is not perfect and we don’t yet know her full 2024 platform, we’re all too aware of the dangers that a Trump presidency, as laid out in Project 20253, would bring — both here in the U.S. and in the regions around the world that bear the brunt of the climate crisis while doing the least to cause it.

For those of us who care about democracy and climate, VP Harris is our only choice. Because here’s what we do know:

We know that VP Harris believes in science. We know that she has supported climate and environmental justice policies in the past — as San Francisco’s district attorney, she set up one of the first environmental justice offices in the country to go after corporate polluters.

And we know that, unlike Trump, she is susceptible to influence from our movement.

We are and always have been a people-powered movement, so, just like we pushed the Biden-Harris administration, we will be pushing the Harris administration on Day 1. But first, she needs to win.

Will you join us and endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for president?

At 350 Action, we know and believe that candidates are not marriages. We’re not choosing a life partner, we’re choosing someone who is part of a system and we’re working to push them. We are, in some ways, electing the best possible opponent for our movement to influence the ways we need to. The United States has enormous influence and money, much of it still in fossil fuels and rampant militarism. One of these two candidates will be holding those purse strings— so who do we want it to be? The answer couldn’t be clearer: we want Kamala Harris.

Together, we can help elect VP Harris and defeat Trump. And together, we can continue to win bold action for climate justice.
