Brooklyn, NY — Following a meeting yesterday with Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to discuss his nomination for EPA administrator, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) expressed his support for the nominee, saying he “has the right experience for the position.”

**350 Action Executive Director May Boeve** gave the following response:

“That Manchin would throw his support behind a fossil fuel industry puppet like Pruitt for the EPA is a major failing for the Democratic party. With Keith Ellison working to transform the party from the inside out, Manchin represents the antiquated views we can’t afford under a Trump presidency, especially when it comes to the climate. It’s up to Democrats to resist Trump at every turn — and that means fighting climate denial tooth and nail — if they want to win elections and protect our future.”

On Monday, climate and environmental organizations will be joined by people across the country at rallies for the [‘Day Against Denial’](https://actionnetwork.org/event_campaigns/day-against-denial) aimed at stopping Trump’s cabinet. The rallies will take place at dozens of U.S. Senators’ in-state offices, calling for these elected officials to reject Trump’s climate denial cabinet, including Rex Tillerson, CEO of Exxon, for Secretary of State; Scott Pruitt for EPA Administrator; Ex-Gov. Rick Perry for Secretary of Energy; and Rep. Ryan Zinke for Department of Interior.
