350 Action and 350 New Hampshire Action Endorse Andru Volinsky for Governor

Concord, NH — 350 New Hampshire Action, alongside 350 Action are endorsing candidates who have demonstrated their commitment to progressive action on climate change, by supporting a just transition away from fossil fuels towards 100% renewable energy that centers a Green New Deal, and advocates to keep fossil fuels in the ground.

350 New Hampshire Action and 350 Action are co-endorsing Andru Volinsky, Democratic candidate running for Governor in New Hampshire.

The following is a statement from 350 New Hampshire Action’s Campaigns Director, Emma Shapiro-Weiss:

“New Hampshire has not seen the kind of leadership we need to stop the climate crisis. We need a governor who will swiftly develop our renewable energy economy and end the use and expansion of fossil fuels, who will work to stop fracked gas pipelines and coal plants that are threatening New Hampshire’s health and communities and who rejects dirty money from the fossil fuel industry trying to fracture our democracy. We are endorsing Andru Volinsky because New Hampshire needs a governor we can trust to put people first.”

The following is a statement from 350 Action’s Policy Director, Natalie Mebane:

“We need candidates for office at every level who understand that addressing the climate crisis must be part of a broader plan for justice and equity. Andru Volinsky’s promise to stand up to the fossil fuel industry in New Hampshire is just one facet of his platform supporting workers’ rights, immigrants’ rights, Medicare for All, and more. New Hampshire deserves a governor who is ready to put people and the planet first.”

350 New Hampshire Action and 350 Action endorse Andru Volinsky, Democratic candidate for Governor of New Hampshire, on a platform that includes support of the Green New Deal and Medicare for All, and opposition to the Granite Bridge Pipeline. Here is his response to the 350 Action candidate questionnaire on his support for the Green New Deal:

“The climate crisis has reached such catastrophic proportions that we have no other choice but to ensure this decade becomes the decade of the Green New Deal. As a grandfather, I see climate through the eyes of my grandchildren and needing to lead a cleaner, healthier planet for them. This means keeping all fossil fuels in the ground and ensuring that workers in the fossil fuel industry are provided with the training to transition to being part of the clean energy economy. I am the only candidate running for governor who has made the pledge to fight for a Green New Deal at the state level, and who opposes new fossil fuel infrastructure.”
