350 Action Celebrates Deb Haaland’s Primary Win: “A Historic Victory for the Climate Movement”

Washington, DC — In response to the primary victory for Deb Haaland (NM-1), Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress, 350 Action Executive Director May Boeve gave the following statement:

“Deb Haaland’s primary win is a historic victory for the climate movement. Deb is the type of climate leader we’ve yet to see on Capitol Hill. She is inspiring people everywhere with her unapologetic progressive platform to stand up for Indigenous rights and keep fossil fuels in the ground. We need leadership like Deb’s in Congress to move us toward a fossil-free world that works for all of us. When you build a campaign that centers justice and the protection of our communities and our climate, you bring the power of a grassroots movement with you. Deb has been strong on climate action from the beginning, and we’re proud to stand with her.”
