350 Action Celebrates Ben Jealous Primary Victory: “A win for climate progressives”

Washington, DC — In response to Ben Jealous’ victory in the Maryland Gubernatorial primary, 350 Action Co-Founder Bill McKibben gave the following statement:

“Ben Jealous is going to give Larry Hogan one hell of a fight because Marylanders know where future prosperity lies: with states that get serious about leading the transition to clean energy. He’s the definition of a leader–a person who unites everyone in common cause”

350 Action Executive Director May Boeve gave the following statement:

“Tonight is a win for climate progressives everywhere. Ben Jealous is living proof that our movements are greater than the sum of our parts. At the height of the Standing Rock fight he was with us on the streets linking arms with water protectors. Tonight’s victory shows that running as a movement candidate pays off. We are proud to stand with Ben Jealous, Dana Balter, and all the other climate progressives who won tonight.”
